Technically, the SAP HANA system can be integrated without problem into the existing IT infrastructure. SAP HANA can be operated as a dedicated appliance, as well as as a virtual machine in the common virtualization platforms.
With one appliance, you get a certified hardware with a fully installed and configured HANA database. However, if you want to operate the SAP HANA system in a virtualized environment, you need to check if the environment meets the required conditions concerning the performance of the computer, the storage, and the network. If this is the case, the SAP HANA system can be operated like any other virtual machine in this environment. One point worthy of note is, however, that SAP HANA is available only under Linux.
